Game data
Your streak and statistics are stored in your browser's local storage. In the daily puzzle each guess goes to our server with a random session ID, so the server can reveal the answer only after the guess and count each guess once. We delete these sessions after three days. When you finish we add your answers and the country of your request to anonymous totals. No IP address or cookie is stored with them, and the session is linked to a name only if you join the leaderboard.
Leaderboard
The leaderboard is optional. If you join, your browser creates a random player ID and keeps it in local storage together with the name you chose. We store that ID, the name and your daily puzzle scores, starting with the puzzle you just finished, and show the name with your points publicly. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, because you ask us to list you. You can change the name or delete the entry with all its scores at any time on the leaderboard page.
Hosting
The site runs on Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes technical request data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). See cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
Analytics
With your consent we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used. Google may process data in the United States under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. You can withdraw consent at any time through the privacy settings link.
Advertising
This site is funded by ads served by Google AdSense and, later, other ad partners. Ad partners use cookies and similar technologies to show and measure ads, and with your consent to personalise them. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland a consent dialog certified under the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework asks for your choice before any non-essential cookie is set. Learn more at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
